Open pores and blackheads: what to do?

Open pores and blackheads: what to do?

They are often associated with oily skin... But, no! Dilated pores and blackheads can appear in all skin types, especially in the T-zone. We will give you all the advice and skincare routine to counter this problem that can quickly turn into an obsession...

  • Why do dilated pores and especially blackheads appear?

In fact, these undesirables can appear in any place with excess sebum.

This is why they are more numerous in the T-zone (with risk areas such as the nose or chin).

Everything starts with the sebaceous glands that produce sebum, the famous fatty substance that protects our skin. At certain times, for example when you are really hot or experiencing hormonal factors, sebum production gets out of control and exceeds the normal amount.

The pilosebaceous follicles, through which the sebum flows, are then a little cluttered and dilate to let this excess fat flow.

And yes, we talk about "dilated pores", but in reality, pores are only used to drain perspiration... In case of accumulation, this excess sebum will oxidize and form a small cap.

These are the infamous blackheads.

When bacteria gets involved, it can easily turn into small pimples.

Note : with age and during skin aging, the skin may lose tone, as the skin's elasticity is less optimal. As a result of this relaxation, the pores are more visible. To regain a pretty skin texture, use products rich in fruit acids (such as glycolic acid) or the resurfacing power of retinol.

  • How to tighten your pores and avoid blackheads?

A good skin care routine will help you regain a flawless complexion and clear skin.

Perfect skin hygiene with double cleansing

Once again, do not skip perfect facial cleansing. Every evening, forget the micellar water that is too irritating and adopt a double cleansing routine to remove the accumulation of sebum, impurities, pollution...

Start with a make-up remover cream or balm to emulsify all the soluble dirt in an oily substance (such as excess sebum), then refine the result with our favourite Rejuvenating Foaming Cleanser to be gently massaged in a circular motion, for perfectly clean and healthy skin.

Rinse your face with cold water to tighten the pores immediately.

Then gently dry your face by dabbing it with a towel.
