What Is Retinol?

Retinol is one of the most studied ingredients in skincare. Once absorbed, it's converted by the skin into retinoic acid, the active form that encourages skin cells to turn over more efficiently, supporting a smoother, more refined complexion over time.

Because it increases cell turnover, retinol can be drying or sensitising if introduced too quickly, which is why ASI formulates it alongside avocado oil, squalane and rosemary leaf extract to help keep the skin comfortable while it adjusts.
