Lactic Acid at a Glance

  • An alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) with a larger molecule than glycolic acid
  • Exfoliates gently while doubling as a humectant
  • Well suited to drier or more sensitive skin types
  • Supports smoother texture and a more even-looking tone

What Is Lactic Acid?

Lactic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid that, like glycolic acid, works by loosening the bonds between dead surface cells. Its larger molecular size means it penetrates more gradually, making it a slightly gentler option that also has a natural moisture-binding effect.

ASI pairs it with glycolic acid in a dedicated exfoliating formula, combining faster and gentler acids to resurface skin effectively while helping keep it hydrated through the process.
