HumectantHydration

Hyaluronic Acid at a Glance

  • Humectant that draws and holds water in the skin
  • Naturally occurring in skin, joints and connective tissue
  • Sodium Hyaluronate is the smaller, more easily absorbed salt form
  • Softens the look of fine dehydration lines almost immediately

What Is Hyaluronic Acid?

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring molecule that acts like a sponge, attracting and holding onto water within the skin. Levels decline with age, which is part of why skin can start to look less plump and more prone to fine dehydration lines over time.

In skincare, it's most often used as Sodium Hyaluronate, a smaller form of the molecule that absorbs more readily into the skin's surface layers, delivering an immediate boost of hydration and a smoother, more supple feel.
