What Is Ferulic Acid?
Ferulic acid is a naturally occurring antioxidant found in plant cell walls. On its own it offers useful protection against environmental stress, but its standout role in skincare is as a stabiliser — when combined with Vitamin C and Vitamin E, it helps the formula stay potent for longer and enhances the antioxidant effect of all three working together.
This is why it's rarely used alone, and instead appears as part of a supporting trio in Vitamin C-led formulas.
