New Year, New Skin

New Year, New Skin

The start of a brand new year, January is the perfect time to make some skincare resolutions.

While you may have fitness challenges, saving goals, and healthy eating habits on the brain, why not switch things up in the skin care department, too?

Your skin deserves all the love and attention it can get, and with a solid list of skin care resolutions, you’ll be on your way to healthy and radiant-looking skin in no time.

1- Identify your skin type

Before starting a skincare routine, there is one essential first step: determine your skin type!

Observe your skin throughout the day. Is your skin shiny and oily by lunchtime, or feels tight and dry to the touch? Whatever the case, these characteristics are indicative of your skin type.

The 5 basic types of skin:

  • Oily skin: Thick, oily skin & blemishes
  • Combination skin: Dry & Oily (T-zone)
  • Dry skin: Tight & Visible fine lines
  • Sensitive skin: Red & Irritated
  • Normal skin: Well balanced & radiant skin

2- Cleansing

Cleansing is one of the most important steps in your skincare routine. It removes makeup, unwanted oil and dead skin cells and it also helps to maintain skin’s natural moisture balance.

Our Top Tip: Always Double Cleanse. Double Cleansing (washing your face twice) has become the new standard for daily skin care routines and it is great to micro-exfoliate the skin on a daily basis. You can also use a facial cleansing brush. It is a great tool to stimulate circulation, complement exfoliation and improve skin tone and texture.

A truly enhanced cleansing experience!

3-Moisturise

Your skin needs moisture to replenish the water it loses throughout the day. Moisturisers with ingredients such as hydrating hyaluronic acid, illuminating Vitamin B3 or Zinc can restore and enhance skin health.

Even if you have oily or combination skin, it’s still important to moisturize. In fact, a lack of moisture can drive your skin to produce more oil in order to compensate for it, which can lead to clogged pores and breakouts.

Applying a moisturiser will maintain skin health all day, giving your skin a healthy hydrated glow.

4-Wear SPF

It’s important to wear sunscreen every day. It prevents premature wrinkles, dark spots and provides protection from the harmful UV rays.

Many moisturisers and cosmetics have added SPF, making it easy for you to get the sun protection you need without applying another product.

5- Serums

Our Advanced Vitamin Boost Collection is a trio of intense skin treatments designed to target skin concerns with and transform skin with results like never before.

Unlike a moisturiser, serums have a lipid-soluble base which allows the active ingredients to penetrate into the deeper layers of your skin, instead of on the surface.

All our serums can be layered and need to be used before applying other creams.
